Morrisby is committed to providing equitable access to our career guidance tools. We understand that students with disability and diverse learning needs can experience variations in their performance on timed assessments. The impact will depend on the individual's specific needs and the nature of the assessment.

While extended time may be suitable for some assessments, it is generally not an appropriate adjustment for precisely timed, item-based assessments like those within the Morrisby Profile.

To ensure accurate and meaningful results, we request that all students, including those with learning differences such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, Irlen Syndrome, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complete the timed assessments under standard conditions and time limits.

Following the assessment, we can make necessary adjustments based on a diagnostic report from an Educational Psychologist or other relevant professional. An example being a WISC (Wechsler Intelligence Test for Children) report. These reports often provide valuable insights into an individual's underlying abilities, which we will use to contextualise the assessment results. We aim to complete these adjustments within five business days of receiving the report, at no additional cost.

In some instances, the available data may be insufficient to make a reliable adjustment. In such cases, we may recommend focusing on the insights gained from the untimed questionnaires and removing the timed ability results. If this approach is not suitable, a full refund will be offered should withdrawal from the process be preferred.

For students with significant disability who may find timed assessments inaccessible for the individual we encourage them to try the practice questions (click here). If these practice questions prove time-consuming, it may be more appropriate for the student to complete only the untimed questionnaires, potentially with the support of a reader and scribe. This will still allow for the generation of an interest profile and relevant career suggestions.

The impact of learning needscan be highly individualised and complex, often occurring alongside other conditions. To ensure an appropriate assessment approach, it is crucial to provide Morrisby with detailed information about any developmental delays before commencing the assessments. This will allow us to determine the most suitable course of action, which may or may not include timed assessments. If timed assessments are deemed appropriate, a tailored adjustment strategy will be developed.

Similarly, for other diagnosed neurodiverse conditions, please provide a diagnostic report to Morrisby for review to ensure the most appropriate assessment and interpretation of results.
